Original Description (from Récluz, 1842, p. 270):

"Testa ovato sub-trigona, depresso-plana, valvula sinistra planissima, dextra vix convexa, albido-vitrea, pellucida, concentrico plicata: plicis inferioribus striaeformibus, postice attenuata, angulata, margine superiore oblique recta, acute crenata, antice rotundata, superne tenne arcuatim emarginata ac cristata; apicibus antice recurvis, acutis; long. 23, larg. 30, convexité 5 mill. — Ilab.: — Trouvée sur le banc de Campêche par M. Cosmao , commandant la station navale du Mexique."
